Agro-Genetic technologies Ltd (AGT)
is a private and independent company with limited liabilities.
AGT is the first and only private company in Uganda to use biotechnology
through tissue culture techniques for micro-propagation of different
crops on a commercial basis.
The Company directors are Swedish and Ugandan seasoned professionals,
with many years of experience in the field of agricultural research
and enterpreneurship
AGT Directors: Mr.Erostus W.Njuki-Nsubuga.(MSc Agric;
MBA Int.Marketing)
Mr. Nsubuga is the founder of Agro-Genetic Technologies Limited
(AGT) in 2001 and he is the Chairman and Chief Exuctive of the company.
Mr.Nsubuga is a Swedish citizen born in Uganda. He is an entrpreneur
with vast experience in international marketing in Africa, Asia
and Europe. Has worked for 10 years for Ericsson AB Telecommunication
company in Stockholm, Sweden as Sales and Marketing Manager for
Africa and Asia. He Pioneered in setting up the first Mobile Cellular
Telecommunication Network in East and Central Africa, Celtel - now
Zain Uganda, where he worked as Sales and Marketing Director for
5 years. He is the pioneer of Mobile World International BV, a Dutch
company dealing in distribution of Mobile Cellular telecom products
for different network operators in different African countries where
he worked as Managing Director for 3 years. Mr. Nsubuga is also
the Chairman- National Crop Research Resources Institute (NaCRRI)
in Uganda from 2006-2009; Chairman of Presidential Investors Round-Table
(PIRT) agribusiness in Uganda, advising the President of Uganda
on Agricultural business Investment in the country for 2007-2010;
Interim Chairman of Tissue Culture Business Network (TCBN) in East
and central Africa and he holds many other potfolios.
Prof. Julius Y.K. Kitungulu Zake: 
He is a renown soil scientist and has been a lecturer at Makerere
University in Uganda for over 40 years. He is now retired and works
as a private consultant at different organisations and institutions.
He is a Chairman and board member of different national and international
organisations and institutions including: Chairman of Africa 2000
network; Chairman Katikiro advisory committee on Agriculture; Director
research and development -National Union of Coffee Agribusiness
and Farm Enterprises(NUCAFE) in Uganda. He is a fellow member of
Uganda national academy of science and others.
Prof: Micheal J.S Magambo:
He is a crop scientist and has done research work at various institutions
including Tropical Pesticide Institute(TPRI) Arusha in TZ, Tea research
institute in Kericho Kenya, and has been a lecturer at Kenyatta
Unversity in Nairobi - Kenya and Makerere University - Uganda for
35 years. Prof. Magambo is now retired and he is a private consultant
for different organisations and institutes on Agriculture. He is
a fellow member of many national and international professional
organisations.
